Argentina faces human rights problems, including violence against women.

Despite a 2009 law setting out comprehensive measures to prevent and punish violence against women, unpunished feminicides continue to give cause for concern.
The COVID-19 pandemic is a major challenge for gender equality. The pandemic has exacerbated existing inequalities between women and men in almost all areas of life.
In Argentina, over 300 women were killed by domestic violence between March 2020 and May 2021. They are the first indirect victims of the pandemic.
That's why it's so important to strengthen women's economic independence by highlighting their driving role in poverty reduction, as well as women who invest and undertake.
