Restoring ecosystems in Thailand: Claire shares her experiences

WHAT WERE THE ON-SITE ASSIGNMENTS?

I took time to familiarise with the place and to understand ecological features. Then I worked on a project to restore ecosystems, with a particular focus on sustainable wastewater treatment.

WHAT THIS INTERNSHIP HAS TAUGHT ME

I learned an enormous amount on a human level, thanks in particular to an extraordinary team who supported me throughout the experience. The internship enabled me to put into practice what I'd learned in class, while discovering a culture and way of life very different from my own. These exchanges were enriching and gave me a new perspective, both professionally and personally.

WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PROJECT?

Over a short period of time, from two weeks to two months, I find the program interesting because it enables me to become aware of many aspects of the field. For my part, I was lucky enough to be able to work directly with the founder of the NGO, which gave me a great deal to learn and enriched my experience.

...AND REAL STEP?

I would recommend RealStep because the team is always available to answer questions, and the programs they offer are very much in line with the reality on the ground. Their support enabled me to have an experience in line with the expectations I had before leaving.
