Discovering the Marine Environment with Andy: His Internship in Marine Biology and Conservation in Tenerife

WHAT WERE THE TASKS ASSIGNED ON SITE?

During my marine biology internship in Tenerife, I carried out several important tasks:

  • Cetacean Identification: I observed and identified different species of cetaceans, such as dolphins and whales, studying their behavior to contribute to their conservation.
  • Monitoring and Identification of Birds: I also identified and monitored local seabird species, noting their behavior and changes in their populations.
  • Beach Cleanups: I took part in cleanup operations to reduce the impact of waste on coastal ecosystems.

These tasks allowed me to contribute to biodiversity protection and develop key skills in marine biology.

WHAT THIS INTERNSHIP BROUGHT ME:

This internship gave me a better understanding of the marine environment, the validation of my ECTS credits for my degree, and made me aware of the importance of paying attention to the simple things in life.

DO I RECOMMEND THIS PROJECT?

I recommend this project without hesitation. Everything is perfect: the setting, the varied tasks, an incredibly kind staff, and the open-mindedness it fosters about the world around us.

...AND REAL STEP?

I highly recommend Realstep. They helped me choose my internship and find the best possible option. They were able to answer all my questions, and everything was perfect. Thank you, Realstep!
