During my internship, I had the opportunity to participate in five environmental research projects:
I was also able to develop my own project by creating identification sheets for different mangrove species, to facilitate a monitoring study of their life cycle.
Professionally, I learned concrete field techniques: drone photography, transect surveys, species identification… The seminars offered allowed me to deepen my knowledge of tropical ecosystems (forests, mangroves, seagrass beds, coral reefs) and the connections between them. The involvement of local communities also helped me better understand environmental challenges in their social and economic dimensions.
On a personal level, after five busy years of study, this internship allowed me to slow down, reconnect with nature, with myself, and to surround myself with caring people. It truly helped me find balance and appreciate the simple things in daily life.
Yes, without hesitation! It’s a unique experience that allows you to immerse yourself in concrete field actions while discovering the natural and cultural richness of Thailand. It’s a wonderful opportunity to grow, learn, and refocus, whether as a student or volunteer.
I was very well supported by Jaqueline from RealStep, who always took the time to answer my questions.
