Hands-on scientific projects

Take action to preserve ecosystems!

Protecting the environment and contributing to sustainable development

The aim of all our programmes is to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations.

But what is sustainable development? In practical terms, it means meeting the needs of today's society without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. It has three dimensions: environmental, social and economic.

Taking action for the environment means contributing to sustainable development. It's a broad field, encompassing many categories, and we offer programmes in a variety of destinations around the globe.

International work experience: scientific expeditions

More and more of you want to take part in environmental and animal projects to limit the effects of human activity on our planet.

There are many ecological projects that need to be tackled, including the upkeep of the seabed, forests and essential natural resources such as drinking water, which is becoming increasingly scarce.

RealStep responds to this desire for commitment and learning through participative science missions abroad. In this way, we combine the international and the environmental to help you discover the professional world of NGOs.

Environmental experience and training :

  • Environmental conservation
  • Marine conservation
  • Research and observations
  • Farm experience
  • Construction
  • Training guide

Assignments for everyone

The scientific expeditions are adapted to RealStep's 3 main objectives: Gap Year programmes, subsidised internships and professional training. The skills acquired are not the same, nor are the experiences gained and the missions entrusted, but all take place within the framework of a scientific research mission.

  • Gap Year

Gap Year programmes in scientific expeditions are ideal for a first experience in the humanitarian field, both for students and for young professionals wishing to acquire new skills.

  • Internships

Carrying out a scientific community project as part of a subsidised internship is the best way to gain practical experience and develop cross-disciplinary and specialist skills. Studying and training, giving meaning to your career, that's exactly the aim of RealStep internships.

  • Professional training

Professional training on scientific expeditions offers solid experience in the humanitarian field and access to a network of professionals. These international courses are ideal for starting a career in humanitarian aid, thanks to personalised coaching and skills assessment before, during and even after the mission.
