Program description

This program gives you the opportunity to do an internship with NGOs in communication-related fields in several European countries such as Portugal (Lisbon, Porto), Spain (Barcelona), Italy (Rome), Greece (Athens), and Croatia (Split).

This internship combines hands-on learning with international experience to support local organizations and generate a positive impact. The goals of this internship are to ensure that your presence benefits the NGO as much as possible and to provide you with a well-rounded professional experience through varied missions.

 

The specific tasks of the internship will depend on the chosen dates, the current needs of the partner NGOs at that time, and of course, your interests and skills.

 

Here are the tasks you may take part in:

  • Content creation for social media
  • Copywriting
  • Updating the organization’s websites
  • Graphic design
  • Participating in marketing campaigns
  • Supporting internal and external communication
  • Organizing events, fundraisers, and other activities
  • Video editing
  • Creative writing
  • Public relations

 

Sample schedule

Morning:

  • 7 a.m. – 10 a.m.: Breakfast at your accommodation.
  • 10 a.m.: Head to your internship placement to start your day and work on your project.

Midday:

  • 1:30 p.m.: Lunch at work or at your accommodation, depending on your internship.

Afternoon:

  • 2 p.m. – 7 p.m.: Continue working on your project. You’ll also have time to freely explore the city depending on your work schedule.
  • 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.: Return to your accommodation or enjoy your free time.

 

This schedule is provided as an example. During the first week, an orientation day is planned to help you get familiar with your host organization and the city surroundings.

Each week, you’ll have a check-in with your supervisor to ensure everything is going smoothly.

You’ll work from Monday to Friday, for 5 to 7 hours per day, with weekends off.
