Before committing to this project, it is important to know that the school is located in a disadvantaged area where many refugee families from neighbouring countries live. Poverty is omnipresent and children grow up in difficult conditions, surrounded by domestic violence, alcoholism, drugs, etc. The school that we support in this area is the only structure that allows young people to get by. The local teams work every day to give these children a chance and offer them a safe environment. Nevertheless, volunteers will be asked to be careful outside of school and ready to face uncomfortable situations in this context of extreme poverty.

The assignment depends on the skills and profile of the participants. A telephone interview and a registration file (CV and motivation letter) will determine the placement of the volunteers on educational projects ranging from childcare to the organisation of extracurricular activities and tutoring / assistance in schools for those with the most training.

Work in a kindergarten in Buenos Aires

Your time and support are needed for the survival of this neighbourhood association in the following ways:

- Tutoring

- Games and sports

- Preparation of meals or snacks

- Organising after school activities

This small school in the suburbs of Buenos Aires started from the personal initiative of a mother helped by many local volunteers. Today, donations and contributions allow this kindergarten to accommodate 3 classes of children aged 3 to 5 and to develop their intellectual and emotional skills.

A permanent teacher supervises the volunteers on artistic and sports activities (singing, drawing, workshops, games), serving meals, maintaining the premises, setting up new activities, teaching numbers, the Spanish alphabet, the first words of English, etc.
